The Witch Hunt Has Begun (again): Mylan CEO testifies before U.S Congress

1084866-11-20160921160236The disgraced CEO of Mylan Pharma is back in the news, and, this time she took herself to Capital Hill to spew her lies about the profits in which Mylan banked on the backs of hard working American parents struggling already to pay for an EpiPen. Before the U.S Congress Wednesday,   Heather Bresch claimed to Congressional officials that “Mylan only makes $50 profit(s) from each EpiPen pack”.

The claim has since made Bresch, yet again, the brunt of social media outrage.  In the past five years, top officials at Mylan Pharma have banked more than $300m respectively. Bresch herself, perhaps, has seen a stark increase in her own pay to the tune of millions (even amid the news of the original hike). Bresch, was questioned firmly over the claim considering most weren’t buying that Mylan only makes roughly $50 from each pen.

Bresch went on to claim to officials that Mylan “had never intended this” and had “wished that we as a company had did a better job of anticipating the price hike in the first place”. In case you were wondering, Bresch, intends to release the “generic pack” of EpiPen’s that are still roughly around $300 out of pocket costs for an average family.
