ess than 24 hours after North Carolina announced that it would weaken LGBT protections for its residents, er, companies far and wide have largely condemned the measure.

Initially,  not much was actually known about the measure. However, after numerous different reports it was confirmed that the legislation was meant to effectively discriminate against LGBT residents across North Carolina.

Adding to the list, prominent Duke University has now reportedly come out in opposition of the legislation.

“Duke University values every individual. We are committed to equality, diversity and inclusion, which makes us a better and stronger community. For that reason, we deplore any effort to deny any person the protection of the law because of sexual orientation or gender identity.”
