DeVry University sued by U.S Federal Government

1055216-11-20160128051945In the latest crackdown on for profit schools in America, the United States has now reportedly taken aim at DeVry University. According to court documents obtained by Daily News Online, the Federal Trade Commission  lodged complaints against the school for ‘viciously misleading students about job prospects’ and that some end up working as ‘delivery drivers’.

FTC chairwoman Edith Ramirez noted in her federal complaint that the school knowingly deceived some 30,000-50,000 students about the jobs they could potentially receive.  The school, however, claims that the allegations  are to say the least unsubstantiated.

The charges come after DeVry claimed in its advertising that students had their job of choice within 6 months of graduation, and, 15% higher income than all other college grads from rival schools in America.
