How a group of determined women brought down a fascinating criminal

It’s safe to say in 2018, dating, is about as controversial as it will ever be in our lifetimes. But, for one Miss Brandt, it became a nightmare that was so surreal she couldn’t believe what she found in her boyfriends wallet.  The Atlantic is out with a fascinating story of how Brandt, a happy 40 something woman divorced with kids, thought she met her godsend from Ourtime.com.

Little did she know, ehum, that her godsend was actually a well thought out criminal and con-man that was knowingly scamming women out of tons of money.

This is where the nightmare began.   Brandt,  met the man who claimed  to be Richie Peterson on  Ourtime.com (a dating site for those halfway through life).    Brandt thought he was everything; manly, had a job, had money, and most of all — took care of her financially when she lost her job.  But,  something didn’t seem right.

He always needed a ride to the hospital, and,   was never fully honest about what happened in the hospital.  That, ehum, led Brandt to finally look in Peterson ‘s wallet to discover he was actually  Derek Mylan Alldred, a notorious and infamous con-man who had been dating women in the area and eventually conning them out of their own money.

Brandt eventually dug even further, going, as far as to discover credit cards in the man’s wallet. The cards, per the Atlantic, belonged to a woman named Linda Dyas, 46.    Brandt knew she had to do something, and, eventually  banded together with each of the five women he scammed to ultimately bring him down.
