Critics are heavily divided on Jennifer Lawrence ‘s role in Red Sparrow

Red Sparrow is all the talk among movie critics this week, as,  audiences get ready for its prime-time arrival.   Red Sparrow, starring  J-Law,    is about a Russian ballerina who suffers a career ending injury. But, that’s not at all.   In the weeks following the injury, she, would soon become a Russian spy in a collective group called The Sparrows.

But, critics are heavily divided on  Jennifer’s performance in the movie.   First up, The Toronto Star cites the movie for its “ancient technology” and “cloaking  the sex scenes in anything else than what they should be called: rape”.

With Cold War tensions rising again in real life, Red Sparrow feels of this time in a cool way, but only Lawrence’s spy is memorable in this so-so operation,” writes Brian Truitt at USA Today.

We’ve got two of our own critics out seeing the movie as we speak courtesy of AMC Theaters.   Our own review will come tomorrow.
