Author of controversial Trump book explains how he got access to Trump

And boy, ehum, is it juicy.   The co-founder of Newser (one of our personal favourite sister blogs) is out with a new book. A book, that uh, has caught the attention of the President of the United States.

Yes, Donald Trump. According to Michael Wolff,  ehum, he got access to Trump essentially because of Donald Trump.   Let’s go back to 2016,  when The Hollywood Reporter, published a questionable article — an article that eventually got the attention of Hope Hicks.

The article apparently got Hicks attention, who,  noted in an e-mail that she liked the article so much that she felt  Wolff should come visit the White House. An idea, that, Wolff himself floated for some time after Hicks told him in an e-mail that Trump was very pleased with the cover featured in the Hollywood Reporter.

At first glance, Trump, wasn’t thrilled at the idea of a book but apparently eventually warmed up to the idea.  Interestingly, Wolff, is also the very same author that Trump famously  asked his staff and White House cabinet to cooperate with — so much so — that there are apparently even audio tapes to go along with the book.

The book dives deep into Trump ‘s troublesome mental state; his numerous attempts to lock himself in his White House bedroom, and uh, one attempt by the Secret Service to remove Trump from his bedroom to actually get to work.  Meanwhile,   Trump ‘s lawyer has apparently sent cease-and-desist letters to  Wolff and his  publisher demanding that the book not be released.  If it is? The Washington Post confirms that a libel suit is apparently being considered.
