Stars lead major  call for woman convicted of murder to be released

Last updated on 2017-11-23

Stars across the Hollywood spectrum  are calling for the release of Cyntoia Brown. When Brown was 16, she was sold into the sex trafficking world. At the time, she would then find herself laying next to a naked elderly   man who purchased her for his perverted pleasures to take her home.

This is where the controversy started.  In 2002 , Brown, was tried as an adult and later charged with murder in the death of predator Johnny Mitchell Allen. Allen, 43, was a real estate agent who preyed on young women.  Brown was sold to Allen in exchange for sex, after she was taken to his home, she did what she had to do to save her life in the eyes of tragedy.

Now, her story is being heard. Originally, thanks to the likes of Rihanna who posted about her wrongful conviction  on Instagram. In the post, Rihanna questioned the state of the US justice system. In her rightful questioning,  she asked the world what kind of justice  system would jail a victim of sex trafficking ultimately blaming her for being sold into sex.

Brown was tried as an adult, and, isn’t eligible for parole until she is 69.
