You can't Be Serious

Rick Perry claims having electricity stops sexual assault

And that’s not a joke.  Apparently Rick Perry, who, was in Africa last week for a summit of weird sorts, believes that having (“lights”) stops and or prevents sexual assaults.

“But also from the standpoint of sexual assault,” Perry said. “When the lights are on, when you have light that shines—the righteousness, if you will—on those types of acts.” The comments came after a young South African girl allegedly told the Energy Secretary that she “wanted lights so she didn’t have to read by the fire”.

Meanwhile,  the Los Angeles Times reports that at least one environmental club has demanded that Perry step down over the insanely ridiculous claim made.
