File this one under: a bit unusual. California state authorities confirmed to The Daily News Friday that a twin-engine plane apparently crashed into a freeway near a Southern California airport this week. Yeah, no shit, this is a real thing.
Awkwardly, the Cessna 310 aircraft crashed into Interstate 405 near Costa Mesa but only managed to clip one car. Interestingly, state troopers say that the only people actually injured in the plane crash were those actually in the plane. How that, er, happened, nobody seems to know. John Wayne Airport officials say that the man and the woman behind the controls of the plane were taken to a nearby hospital with severe injuries.
