Buzzfeed’s news division is shutting its doors for good as the company seeks to continue to slash costs. According to the company, those affected by the move will be offered jobs over at Huff Post. Huff Post of course has been profitable in recent months.
Buzzfeed News has long had a long list of problems leading to its being on life support. According to an email memo, Jonah Perreti made the announcement on Thursday.
“We are reducing our workforce by approximately 15% today across our Business, Content, Tech and Admin teams, and beginning the process of closing BuzzFeed News,” Peretti wrote in the email.
