Angela Merkel calls for burqa ban in Germany: Report

BERLIN, GERMANY —  Germany’s Chancellor Angela Merkel has apparently announced that she supports a burqa ban in Germany amid a growing refugee crisis “that must not be duplicated” in the future.  The Independent reports that conveniently the proposed ban comes amid Merkel ‘s re-election campaign to a fourth term as the chancellor of Germany.

Merkel apparently told delegates in Essen that she feels that “the burqa should be banned in all places where legally possible”.   The Christian Democratic Union hasn’t made it clear whether or not they also support such laws against burqas in Germany.  The move appears to be a bit of a coincidence considering the refugee crisis in Germany is largely in the hands of  Merkel herself.
