Backpage CEO charged with trafficking, website shuttered

The world’s biggest online brothel is no more. According to court documents obtained this morning by The Daily News,  Carl Ferrer, was arrested Thursday in apparent connections to pimping in the state of California. Ferrer, had allegedly tried to pimp out a teenage girl.

Docs show that the whole jig was a set up. According to further documents, the unidentified girl was part of a larger sting against the organization after undercover officers  posted sex trafficking ads on the classified website that led them to johns known to use the website.

Two additional shareholders were reportedly reigned in within the investigation. Docs co firmed that all three face numerous charges, and, their financial records are currently under investigation.  It is largely believed that the three men made millions of dollars from illegal sex trade ads on the website.
