Images bearing our e-mail addresses; and information, and partial logos have now appeared on the internet amid a new partnership between Young Saint and Sultan Khan himself. In his first interview since signing, Saint, sat down for an exclusive interview detailing his career and passions as an artist.

Khan Global:  What influenced you  to begin making music?

Young Saint: I wanna say it was a genetic instinct.  By that I mean, my dad was kind of a big deal DJ back home before he unfortunately passed away. So it’s kind of like I’ve sort of become the outcome of his legacy.

Khan Global: When things started to take off for Young Saint, how did your life change?

Young Saint: People love the idea of making a significant life change. They ponder how their newfound self-esteem would impact their social interactions and how it’d improve all aspects of their lives. Well, my circle definitely got smaller, my dedication to my work indeed got stronger — but in the end I realized that the practice is far from over and it’s game time.

Khan Global: What’s the most important aspect of your career?

Young Saint: I’m very excited about this because of the variety of different work. I’m well rounded and it’s always exciting when I can use many of my skills for creative projects. I knew I really wanted this because it combined my interest and my imagination into one. So being able to do something that I love is what appeals to me the most.

Khan Global:   Who is your biggest musical influence?

Young Saint: Eminem! Eminem in general, I never imagined that anyone could actually hate Eminem.  He, honestly, was every and anything that I had ever listened to. I do listen to music that people are talking about and I discovered new beloved artists, but I think now I’m really able to talk about all the rap music in general and all the opinions that go around Eminem and his music.

Khan Global:  What are some things you do before you perform?

Young Saint: There’s not much you can do about nerves before your show. I discovered that there’s not much you can do about nerves even when you become a seasoned live performer. I  get myself together like 2 hours before i even leave, my outfit; cd check, which car I’m riding in, all that. I like moving during crunch time because I am always more alert and focused when I’m under pressure.

Khan Global: If a child were to ask you how to break into music, what would you tell them?

Young Saint:  Study the game, this is a business, all play and no work will make you fall short in attempts of a successful launch of your craft. Stay healthy too because those long flights and road trips can drain you so just prepare yourself to be well rounded and never  stop freestyling. No matter R&B, rap, Country, Pop, just take ten minutes to yourself and flow.

Khan Global: When you saw yourself on TMZ, what went through your mind?

Young Saint: I have yet to actually sit in front of a TV to see. But it’s always the filming of the segment  that has me like “This is crazy to see me on TMZ”.  I’m not proud of this story but this is big shi*t for me to be on TMZ.

Khan Global: If you could perform with any single rapper who would it be, and why?

Young Saint: I’m a huge fan of hip hop history and the historic moments that came along with it. So, I’d have to say Nas, I think fans would go insane if I bought him to do one Mic.

Khan Global: Where did you grow up?

Young Saint:  New Haven CT. I’ve literally gone and been everywhere in my entire life untouched.

Part 2 of Young Saint’s exclusive signing interview broadcasts in The Daily News on 11 September 2016.
