AUSTIN — If one had these accomplishments, normally, they’d be the center of attention and heavily congratulated. Except, when you’re Mayte Lara Ibarra such isn’t quite the case. Last night, Ibarra took to the web to show off a little bit of her accomplishments — only — to reveal that she is illegally in the United States.
“Valedictorian, 4.5GPA, full tuition paid for at UT, 13 cords/medals, nice legs,” Ibarra tweeted before the tweets picked up 30,000 retweets and eventually deleted her Twitter account. UT Austin claims that her status “is meaningless to the school” and did not play a part in their financial aid; scholarship, and admission decision.
