In what has now become one of the most prolific cases of a serial killer in California history, the Grim Sleeper, is now a guilty man. After a drawn out three-month trial, Lonnie Franklin Jr, 63, is set to stand one last trial before a jury to determine whether or not he will die. Dubbed the “Grim Sleeper” Franklin was convicted in 2010 of more than 10 murders of young women (even a 15-year-old) dating back t o at least the 1980’s.
He would apparently kill his victims and then leave them partially and often naked in alleys near his home. Franklin, a former garbage collector and police garage checker — was tied to the heinous crimes after a police officer posed as a bus boy.
More than 60 witnesses reportedly testified at the three-month trial, which, saw tears; anxiety, and often more questions than answers. Prosecutors reportedly believe that they have evidence of at least 5 more murders connected to the infamous killer.
Experts say he will likely be put to death.
