WASHINGTON — The United States Justice Department has announced that the much discussed bathroom bill barring transgender people using the bathroom in which they identify, is both constitutionally illegal and against the Civil Rights Act. The announcement comes after weeks of intense scrutiny and massive losses of revenue for the state, similarly seen, in the state of Mississippi.
Officials cited the Civil Rights Act in downplaying the bathroom bill as generically “illegal”. No word on whether or not an investigation will be opened, however, officials who spoke on the condition of anonymity confirmed that the bathroom bill is indeed being closely monitored.
