In 1970, America first classified marijuana as a Schedule 1 drug — meaning that it was largely by federal terms considered one of the deadliest drugs on earth. Now, more more than 30 years later, the DEA has reportedly announced that it will reconvene this year to determine if it is time to remove that status from cannabis.

Marijuana is more strictly regulated than heroin, weirdly, even though marijuana has killed less than heroin since 1999. Statistics reportedly place heroin related deaths at more than 150,000 people since 1999.
