U.S schools getting big shake-up in vending machines

FOOD9In  a not so surprising move by Agricultural officials in the United States — the feds have apparently decided that starting in 2014 all heavy sugar based foods and those considered ‘not healthy’  must be removed from vending machines across the country.  The move comes in wake of immense pressure to crack down on childhood obesity and unhealthy snack choices in school.

CNN notes that new foods will be added into the vending machines including: Crackers, 1/4 cup of fruit, granola bars, and other related snacks.   Per the new rule, vending machines will at all times maintain a 50% health level.
